How to Speak Easy Japanese

Hi All,

I forget to teach you how to read the ingredient. This is very simple.

BUTA - PORK
GYUU - BEEF
鶏 -TORI-CHICKEN
肉 -NIKU-MEAT

*Meat here doesnt mean BEEF Meat. It does contain any meat (including pork) so better you ask them first.
Here is how to tell them in japanese. I will write in Japanese and in Roman so that you know how to talk to them.

Which one of the food here does not contain any pork?

Sou desu ne. kochira wa butaniku ga haite imasu.
Okay. This food does contain pork.

If you dont mind, can you take out the pork?

Buta niku wa nashi ni shi masu.
i dont want any pork in this meal.

Sometimes, they will ask you why you dont eat. So here the Q & A.

Naze, buta niku o tabe rare masen deska? Aru-regi?
Why cant you eat pork? Allergic?

Iie, isuramu kyou desu ga, buta niku ha dame desu ne.
No, I am an Islam, therefore, I cant take pork.

Okay, understand. I would need to ask them, could you able to wait for the moment?

Buta niku dake desu ka? hoka no ha daijyoubu desu ka?
Only pork right? others is okay?

if you doesnt want to take any meat at all, just say this.

Watashi wa o-niku ga tabe rare nai desu ga, dochira no tabe mono ha o niku ha haite imasen ka?
I cant eat any kind of meat, which of the food here doesnt contain any meat at all?

So, good luck with your japanese speaking :)

the word that has been  U  is the word that you dont need to pronounce. Instead of DE- SU, make it as DES. Later :)

Halal Food in Japan Part 2

Hey! I am back! Here is the part 2 - Where to buy Halal Food.

If you stay longer in Japan, you may want to buy halal food to cook it yourself. I usually go ShinOkubo to buy my halal stock meat. You can find most of the things to cook such as lamb, chicken, beef, tamarine, kunyit, serai and other stuff there. It is run by Pakistani.

How to get there?

Take Yamanote Line heading to Shinjuku and take Shin Okubo station. When you go out from ShinOkubo, find a shop call Matsumoto. Make sure Matsumoto shop is on your right and turn right. Just walk around 5-10meter (sorry, my math isnt good) the shop is located on your left hand side. In front of the shop you can see KPop Shop. (No connection but easier for you to see the shop). Its very small but many things are there.

before I forget, the earlier post of Part 1 I did mention about Halal Shop. Most of them will sell beer and alcohol as one of the shop requirements. This is because if they didnt sell that, its hard to make good money because they not only targeting Malays/ Muslims, they also targetting Japanese and other religions to taste their food.

http://mall.azhar.jp/oc/ <-- this is the link for you to buy online for at least 1-3months stock.

http://islamcenter.or.jp/eng/halalfood.html here is the list where you can buy the halal stock.

if u are muslim and want to eat halal for religious reasons, you could always eat seafood. I lived in Seoul(south korea) for a while and its almost impossible to find cheap halal food, almost every muslim who sells you halal food does it for the money and tricks u for it. so my advice is just say ''bismillah'' and eat anything(except pork of course) and always remember that '' al-din yusr'' which is translated to '' religion is simple'' its a blessing and not a bother. ramadan kareem everyone

What has been said by this writer is actually true. They sometimes do it for Money so its usually very expensive. You can eat Soba or Udon (just ask for only vegetarian or Tempura Soba or Udon) its only cost you 500-1000yen (if there is a set) but for Halal food, its not like in Malaysia, you buy roti canai and you get curry for free. the Nan its 600yen and the curry sometimes goes up to 1000yen above.
If you are not a vegetarian or a seafood eater, better train yourself because it is easier for you to say that you don't consume meat rather than troubling yourself.

My advice is you shall try all Japanese food while you were in Japan because the taste is tastier in Japan.

There is a shop call Standing Sushi Bar in Kojimachi Station (Yurakucho Line of Tokyo metro) exit 2, turn to your left after you see a statue boy, walk around 50meter and you can find the shop on your left handside. (blue signboard next to an Indian shop). The Sushi here is delicious!!! Ask for Aburi Engawa with Fon-gu, it is totally HEAVEN!!

You can also search for Sushi Zanmai, there are everywhere but Sushi Zanmai in Malaysia is not the same branch in Tokyo. I asked them, they dont even know there is such place in Malaysia but I asked the staff, not the owner. So I am not really sure if they are connected to each other. Sushi Zanmai is expensive here, because one sushi (usually we get 2 at one price right) but there, one piece is over 95yen above but Standing Sushi at Kojimachi, 1 biji is 75yen, so cheaper.

Therefore, I am out from here.

Halal Food in Japan Part 1

Hello! Its almost time for me to leave this beautiful country. Seriously, I dont want to go back but I have some other responsibilities in Malaysia, so here I am giving you tips about restaurant in Japan.

In Japan, everywhere you go there must have pork in the food but not all. Those who are not really strict with religion, I am suggesting you these food but please remember what I have teach for you to speak Japanese to ask if there is any pork in the ingredient. To be easy, just say you are vegetarian or you can only eat seafood and vegetarian. No meat. Click HERE to see how to speak/tell them that you cant eat pork

http://www.tokyometro.jp/en/subwaymap/pdf/routemap_en.pdf

Above is the map for you to check where you shall go.If you are staying for longer period, I suggest you to get the PASSMO card or SUICA card for the Tokyo Metro. If you have this card, you can reload 1000Yen, 2000Yen, 5000Yen, 10,000Yen. (RM40, RM80, RM200, RM400). You dont need to buy the ticket if you have these PASSMO card.

Okay now, I want to tell you where is the best place to eat for Halal Food. First, I would like to introduce Malay Kampung. The owner of the Shop is Shin. He is from Ipoh. The food there excellent. I have tried Nasi Ayam, Nasi Goreng and also Teh tarik makes you feel like home.

Take Hatchobori (Hibiya Line of Tokyo Metro) Exit A5 then you walk straight till you see Docomo Shop. Then turn left and go straight till you see Family Mart. Go behind family mart and walk 20meter and you see on right Malay kampung on 1st Floor.
+81-3-3537-6690 -
Call Shin if you cant find the shop, he can help you to guide. He can speak English and Malay because he is Chinese Malaysian but he have Japanese slang hehe. So cute.

Another shop called Malay-Chan. http://www.lonelyplanet.com/japan/tokyo/restaurants/malaysian/malaychan

You can find the map at the link for you to go there. I never eaten there but my husband ate Nasi goreng belacan and it was delicious. Its spicy too.

Another shop call Siddique. http://vege-navi.jp/?.79.2. You can find it here. The Cheese Nan and Chicken Tandoori IS SUPERB. Another shop is located at Suehirocho (Ginza Line - Tokyo metro) take the exit and just walk through Akihabara. The shop is small but you can see it there. They also have nearby the Indian Embassy in Ichigaya area. 3 stories of shop. Check it out there.

Therefore, I shall end this Part 1. I shall go to part 2 where to buy Halal Food.

Public Transport & Traffic Jam

Yesterday, after watching the Sakura at the nearest park from my work, I suddenly have some thoughts about Public Transports and Traffic Jam in Malaysia. every single day in twitter, I always saw people complaining about these two freaking problem. I just raising opinions here. Like it or not, not my problem. Its our people's problem.

Yesterday, after conversations with my friends from Europe and Japanese, I feel so damn unlucky. I was wondering, why I dont have that much of money to go travel all around the world just like them. Then after few things I make a research, I found out that in Europe, people dont use car just to go to work (unless it is very far away). same here in Japan. I only see people use cars when they need to go travel far and if they have many places to go in one day. if not, they will only use the trains.

For using the train, I do think it could save alot of money. For example, they can use rm400 (10,000Yen) for a month to get the One month ticket passes to go all over Metro line, JR line and Toei line or other line. So they save up on petrol already. The train is so convenience sometimes the longest time they take maybe 15-25mins (during weekends). At least they only use the car maybe once a month so that the use of petrol will be lesser. Not to condemn the petrol business but we can safe a lot with public transport.

Why not government or oppositions who keep on thinking how to bang each other head, why not you bang each other head by thinking "How shall we improve our public transport and traffic jam in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor?". No harm to think this kind of thing rather than to think about how to "kill" DSAI, how to "kill" Najib and bla bla. I dont even see the benefits of that to our people. Both talk shit, thats all i know.

First of all, the solutions. Why not make more public transport to all over KL and Selangor? Even in Pendalaman? you dont need to ruin all the trees and the kampung area, you just need to improve the area. In Japan, they still have trees and lake and whatever but still, they have public transport. This means trains. Once you have all the trains, then you can upgrade the bus. if you have more busses and less train, it does not help too as traffic jam will make people will not be interested to get the bus as their alternative.

Once you get the trains moving (dont tell me KTM is good enough- heard THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINT about it already). Putting extra coach for? No use if the train doesnt connect to other ERL and Monorail or LRT or STAR. and please, stop thinking to only put the LRT and trains only at the TOURIST SPOT. Sometimes tourist even complain and get a rental car for them to drive anywhere. You have to do this for RAKYAT not for TOURIST. I Repeat RAKYAT NOT TOURIST.

I have so many things I want to say, but for the moment, let me keep this for me first. Talk to you guys again soon.

kadangkala, mengapa suami mencari wanita lain - kerna isterinya MasyaAllah, garang melampau. Queen Control.

Sesama kita nasihat-menasihati.  Kehidupan itu Indah dengan Cinta.
